Love this Coffee Maker! Returned another Name Brand coffee maker because clock was malfunctioning and purchased this one for a better price. So far works great and coffee is excellent--only had for 1 day :) PROS: Like the fact that the tube in the water well is clear so I can be sure that it is clean. It was solid in my previous unit Slimmer than the Name Brand maker I returned and fits counter well Illuminated digital clock, so I can read it from across the room and light to let me know I set the Timer. CON: Previous maker had water view window on both sides. Made it more adaptable for counter positioning. Would like to see that feature on future B & D Coffee Makers in this price range. Thanks!
Makes coffee. I received this coffee maker as a gift and am quite happy with it with one exception. The display is not back-lit which makes it very hard to see the screen, even in good light. I have to use a small flashlight in order to set the clock or timer and to see for sure that the delay brew is on or off and to see the strong indicator.
Very Very Good Coffee. Purchased a week ago---previously had--the BD Brew n Go---which I liked enough to purchase 3 times---but units just wouldn't last. I was a little leary because of the style of basket--but have been proved wrong---this unit makes an even better cup of good ole' Maxwell House. coffee. I'm a senior and as a rule make only 1/2 cup--8oz. at a time but like being able to make the 16oz. size when friend drops in. I prefer a wonderful plain cup of coffee and this unit delivers. PS many friends are throwing out those awful Keurig monstrosities---and have advised them to purchase this.
Works great for both coffee and tea. I bought this for making coffee but also use it with loose tea leaves in the same filter basket as the ground coffee. It works great for both as long as you use enough tea leaves or coffee grounds. I put my Sweet & Low in the mug before I brew either, and then after brewing I add milk to the coffee. I use a measuring cup to put 16 OZ of water in the maker's water chamber so that I have space for that milk, rather than fill to the line. Then press the button and go away until I hear the click when it shuts off, and then wait another minute for the brew to finish draining into the mug. Works every time...
Me and my coffee maker. Let's start off with the fact that I am a taxi driver. I have no real set schedule but whenever I wake up I go over to an area of witch I live. I call it my coffee station. My Black, Black and Decker coffee maker sits on a table which I had to make because nothing else looked right so I had to make my own table made of oak from scraps I found in yard sales. On that there is containers of coffee too sugar stirring implements and a multicolored green, red, brown, beige geometrically designed tablecloth that's just a little too small which makes it look kind of sexy. I have to admit it is kind of a focus point but some people actually asked me is that where I pray. My friends like to go over there and make coffee or tea. And all because of the coffee maker that you made.
Nice little machine! There are a number of negative reviews on this site, but mine won't be another. I've bought this coffee maker twice, the second time only because I broke the carafe and a replacement was only a few dollars cheaper than an entirely new machine. I used the first one for years without a problem and it was still working when I replaced it (due to the broken carafe). I've had this current one for about year now and it too has been without issue, and I feel it makes a great cup of coffee! So, to each his own I guess, but I haven't found anything wrong with this coffee maker!
Gets the job done. I've had this coffee maker for about a year now. I only use it to make 1 mug size and it tastes fine. I like that it takes up very little space on my counter. As far as smells or tastes of plastic, I have not noticed any. I guess a timer would help and if you pour the pot too fast the lid may pop up a little too much and some coffee will spill out. But really minor problems. Great value for the price!
Owned for 4 year and makes great Coffee. We have owned this model for 4+ years. It is easy to add the water as the lid opens up very wide and there is plenty of room to pour it in. We haven't had a problem with it spilling. We take our thumb and slightly raise the lid and it pours great. It has the great sneak a cup feature and doesn't over fill the basket when we pour two cups. I am actually surprised so many have had issues. We purchased another model for company to make decaf and it made us realize what a great little coffee maker this model really is! Wish it came with more SS bling but will be happy with what we get.
Auto shut off is great. This is the second B&D coffeemaker I've bought. Mine you, the Brew N Go still works perfectly, but my cm618 is even more compact and travels every where with me. As I order Gevalia coffee, I prefer to make my own coffee each morning. When I make coffee, I usually make two cups. This coffeemaker makes 2 cups, therefore, you need to put in two scoops of coffee so it will brew the perfect cup. They are both very goof products.
