A great little heat maker. We installed this stove a month ago and have been using it in 45 down to 10 degree weather. Our home is 2700 sq. ft. with about 1400 of that as the main living area that gets direct heat fron the stove. With the main furnace blower set to "random circulate" this little stove is a power house. It keeps the main area an average of upper 70's while the far reaches of the house is in the mid 60's. We haven't had it opened up to full burn yet because it would run us out of the living room. It's amazing how little fuel this stove uses. This way more efficient than the old Fisher I grew up with in the 1970's.
Efficient Stove. I bought this stove three years ago and have been pretty satisfied with the stove once I learned how to use it. I recommend burning 15% moisture content wood or less in the stove as the efficiency depends on how quickly you can get the stove up to the combustion temperature. You can't burn a low smoldering fire in this stove or else you'll have huge creosote problems. It's designed to burn smoke and wood.
Awesome Stove. I am into my third heating season, Last year and this year brutal -0 degree temps. My House is 1900 sf and is toasty warm when the stove is burning. It is very efficient i burned just over three full cord of mixed hard wood and some poplar. If you are looking for a reasonable cost and efficient stove this is it.
God Bless American Made. Installed the 2000 myself in my family room. I have a 2200 sq/ft bi-level and this baby heats the whole thing. Since this is my first time with a wood stove we have been cranking the fires and our electric heat pump has not turned on once all winter. The past two months have been brutally cold in Eastern Pennsylvania, and with this stove I have cut my electric bill by 3/4. The only thing about this stove that is a little off is the ash drain plug is too far to the left in the fire box. When I clean out the ashes some will miss the catch pan. I love this stove and would recommend it to anyone who will listen to me talk about it. God Bless American Made Products!!!
Good Overall, Solid Heat Source. I've had this stove for about 2-3 years give or take a month or two in an un-insulated farm house. During the cold spell in my area last winter it kept us warm and comfy with no problems. It definately puts out heat! Be careful with older houses and wiring. Thought my ignitor was going bad, but it ended up being a bad connection in my basement via a junction box that had been put in sometime in the past. I'm thinking it was a latent issue and the draw of the stove just brought it out. I fixed that and no more issues. Only draw-backs with this unit, in my opinion, is how loud it is when running (mentioned in other reviews) and the fact that there isnt a way to hook it into a duct system that I saw. I have an old and large house so air movement had to be accomplished through fans and floor vents. Also, make sure to have help when moving it. It is very very heavy! Overall solid product though.
Excellent pellet stove. Purchased this stove 5 year ago. Worked beautifully, heats my house with no issues. Recently the igniter broke and I was using gel to start it. That got to be troublesome. Had igniter replaced and I should have stuck with the gel.. . also I wish there was a battery backup so when the power goes out I don't have to worry about hooking up the generator. Things break, I would definitely recommend this stove.
Great Price and Performance. I purchased our 5500M in 2013. Two winter heating seasons in and this baby keeps us toasty. We run it as our primary heat source to keep our electric bill from skyrocketing. Usually keep it on setting number 1 and it keeps the house at a perfect 70-72 degrees on days that are high 20's. Really cold nights (teens and single digits) we set it on 2 and it makes it comfortable. Unlike the expensive units this baby burns every pellet you put in it. Of course low quality pellets produce less BTUs but the 5500M even keeps the worst pellets burning. Sometimes you have no choice but to buy what is available. Our house is smaller than 2200 sq/ft so this unit can get the place real hot. But you should ALWAYS install heating or AC that will be more than you need.
Gather round and get cozy. Our traditional designs, sleek modern centerpieces and other popular flame producers light up a biofuel, gel fuel, ventless, electric, or gas model in corner, inserts & mantels, freestanding, two sided, wall mounted, cabinets, freestanding, units with bookcases, media console units, compact personal versions and stoves.
If a fireplace can set life aglow, when snow drifts on winter nights under silver moonlight and frozen stars, are only those houses built with one lucky enough to enjoy that glow? Not anymore. Our products are here for the express purpose of bringing you comfort on cold winter (and autumn and early spring) nights, to give you the pleasure of curling up in front of a roaring fire with a mug of hot cocoa and a good book. And to do that, we sell fireplaces.
We offer a number of portable wall-aligned fireplaces, designed specifically to look like the famous built-in fireplaces the rest of us are so jealous of. Our wall models are portable, ventless, and plugless, and don’t require any special permit or construction license to set up and operate. Burning on a clear gel fuel mix set behind its built-in log set, this fireplace looks and sounds exactly like a real wood-burning fire place – without the charcoal, ash and wood chip mess that attends the “real” thing.
Perhaps most importantly, our fireplaces look fabulous. Many come with shelves or bookcases harmoniously incorporated into the design. Have you been looking for a good place to put your well-worn, leather-bound stack of classics? What better place than the place you’ll be reading them – next to the fireplace?
We also carry a number of electric fireplaces, for those who don’t even want to bother with the fuel gels. At the flip of a switch your wall or corner fireplace crackles to life to add a cheery atmosphere to any room.
