Awesome Kitchen Island! I never write product reviews, but we just assembled our kitchen island and I'm so impressed I had to write a review. After looking at LOTS of islands online and in stores, this island provided the best option at the best price. This island is very heavy and sturdy and gives a high-end gourmet look to your kitchen. Similar styles to this I saw in high-end retail stores were in the $800 range, which I would never pay. We have a small unrenovated kitchen. The modest size of this island is exactly what we needed. Not only does it provide much needed extra work space, but we can roll it where we need it --- and it's so heavy and sturdy, it feels solid anywhere. Now that we've added a sisal rug (to cover the dingy tile), hung a pot rack, and finished the room off with this stylish kitchen island, our kitchen looks like a million bucks! (OK, well no stainless steel appliances or granite counter tops, but lots of style on a budget!) The only thing is there's not a ton of additional storage space, but the bottom shelf is actually pretty spacious. We didn't really buy it for that purpose anyway.... I think the "open look" works better in a small space (as opposed to an enclosed cabinet). We might add stainless steel towel bars on the side to hang stylish kitchen towels, but it really doesn't need it. If you're looking for a kitchen island (that looks much more expensive than what it really is) for a small space that will add style AND function, then I highly recommend this island! I love it!
Sturdy, economical kitchen prep station. Best used as a prep station and storage area. Takes mineral oil (for countertop) well. Also takes paint (milkpaint for frame and legs) well. The adjustable shelves can tend to slip out of their alignment holes - best to assemble the legs THEN dry fit the shelves, screwing in their brackets according to best fit. Only other complaint is that the tabletop is forming cracks along the laminate seams. The wood is unfinished, so treatment to moisture-heavy areas is recommended as soon as possible. Otherwise, the kit is great. A solid, attractive and functional kitchen prep table at an economical price!
Pretty good. I use this for my personal computer at home. I love the size and like the drawers, though I wish they were three separate drawers instead of one drawer and one keyboard tray (I use it as a drawer anyway, but it's not as deep as a real drawer would be). The attached legs aren't as sturdy as I'd like them to be, but if I don't plan to move it much it should be fine.
Quality bench and a great price! This is a nice bench for a great price. I looked for a year or more for the right bench to add to an exsiting kitchen table, but the style, size, finish, or price wasn't right. I didn't want to spend a lot of money because we don't plan to have our table for more than a few more years. We can easily get 3 kids on it, and 4 if they sit close. The bench is very well constructed and feels solid. It was a cinch to put together. The best part was that I was able to stain it the exact color of our table . It looks like it came with the table!
Says it like it is! I am an artist and I bought this bench to use and decorate as a base for a colorful mosaic design. It is covered now in glass mosaics now, but I must say, the wood was so nice and the piece was so solid and well put together that I almost felt badly covering it. It is a really sturdy well built piece of furniture and I will probably end up buying another one!
Lives up to the reveiw headline. So far the chairs are living up to their expectation. They are great looking, very sturdy, and they go perfectly with my small but round kitchen table. The set of chairs that came with the original table started to get weak and needed some serious repair. So I started looking online and found this company with very reasonable priced chairs and I purchased 2 sets. Great value for the price. I would purchase chairs from this company again.
Sturdy and Attractive. These chairs are lovely. They are very comfortable and attractive, and assembled reasonably well (although it was not the easiest assembly--drill definitely required--they used actual screws and the went together in a logical way). The top of one did come loose and I had to reglue it. They are a generous size without being too huge (I would not order them if you are looking for compact chairs or will be using them in a small area). I expect these chairs will hold up for years.[...]

They produce finished and unfinished wooden tables, chairs, and barstools in modern designs using classic wood materials. The company's unfinished furniture can be treated with Whitewood Products or paired with other paints and stains. The brand stands out for its resilience and durability, its U.S.-based manufacturing and its affordability.
Founded in 1982 as a distributor of ready-to-finish furniture to retail stores throughout the eastern United States, Whitewood added finished juvenile furniture to its product mix, and in 1987 began an import division, expanding as a complete offshore resource, and moved to High Point, NC, and expanding to more than 200,000 square feet in 1994. in 2000 they recruited a talented team and engaged well-known furniture designer Carol Wheeless to develop Whitewood's own, finished furniture brand called "John Thomas Furniture." The mid-priced, design-oriented line features full-sized dining groups that are casual enough for everyday meals but handsome enough for special occasions too.
In 2005 they launched Whitewood Masterfinish, a thirty-five color choice, paint/stain gel product that offers ready-to finish and specialty retailers the opportunity to marry ready-to-finish furniture with a "same brand" finishing product. Today, Whitewood divisions also include International Concepts employing 150 Thomasville, NC residents with manufacturing, warehousing, corporate offices, and showroom facilities reaching 350,000 square feet.
