In The year 1942, Late Mohammed Ayub Ansari, a man of vision and commitment entered in the business of manufacturing and export of hand-made carpets and founded a company in partnership. Later on in 1966 this company was transformed into an enterprising company by Mr.Naimullah Ansari in the name of his father as M.A.Trading Company. It was Naimullah Ansari who took the initiative of finding new markets and was the main figure behind the design team. He introduced hand-woven woollen druggets/durries of Scandinavian taste making MAT a well known name in the market.

Now the company deals in a wide range of Indian carpets. Mr.Naimullah Ansari and his sons visualized that it is the "Design", quality, colour and the price of the carpets that attracts the customers and the consumers. M.A.Trading has an eminent crew of designers from India and abroad that creates designs of beautiful carpets of latest brand.

MAT is now run by professionals under the leadership of the third generation, SHAKEEL ANSARI and RASHID ANSARI.The Company is manufacturer, exporter and wholesale supplier of Hand-made carpets from India.

After the introduction of the new generation in MAT Shakeel Ansari as CEO and Rashid Ansari as COO "The MAT" has become the supplier of various brands and labels. Recently they have started their own label and brand: MAT THE BASICS. This is a lifestyle concept which they are marketing as affordable design products in a contemporary style.
