Award winning artist, Roderick E. Stevens was handed his first set of oils at the age of seven and his love for painting was promptly born. Initially his works followed more abstract expression since well... he was only seven. In high school, he began exploring realism, and simultaneously discovered acrylics which seemed to better accommodate his impatient nature at the time.
I'm an amateur photographer but I've always been fascinated by photo-realistic painting. The attention to detail here and the artist's mastery of light and angle is just spectacular. Plus I like his macho subject matter: shots, pistols, motorcycles. Very cool.
